PT2 products are designed for disinfecting surfaces and water in public areas like swimming pools and spas. PT4 products are specifically formulated for food contact surfaces and comply with HACCP standards. PT5 products are for drinking water treatment and potable water systems. Each product type is covered under the GB Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) for its specific use.
Chlorine dioxide (ClO₂) is more effective at lower concentrations, penetrates biofilms better, and remains effective across a wider pH range (4-10). Unlike chlorine, it doesn't form harmful trihalomethanes (THMs) with organic matter. ChloroKlean Plus L20 uses regenerative chlorine dioxide technology for sustained antimicrobial action.
ChloroKlean Plus L20 is our primary product for Legionella control, with efficacy against Legionella pneumophila SG1 supported by standard laboratory testing and our hospital case study. PT5 drinking water and PT2 pool/spa products are used for Legionella control within their product-type compliance. Chlorine dioxide also penetrates and disrupts the biofilms that harbour Legionella.
