Yes. Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a powerful oxidizing biocide with 2.6x more oxidizing power than chlorine. Unlike chlorine, it works effectively across a wide pH range (4-10), penetrates and destroys biofilms, does not form THMs, HAAs or chloramines (its own inorganic by-products, chlorite and chlorate, are controlled by correct dosing), and remains effective against many chlorine-tolerant organisms. It is not a barrier for Cryptosporidium in private water supplies, where DWI recommends UV.

ChloroKlean products are supplied for the Great Britain market in compliance with GB BPR (the retained version of EU Regulation 528/2012), for the specific product types stated on each label. ChloroKlean products are available in sizes from 500ml to 1000L IBC. Smaller sizes (500ml, 1L, 5L) qualify for LQ (Limited Quantity) shipping. Larger sizes (10L, 25L, IBC 1000L) require full ADR shipping arrangements.

Yes, ChloroKlean PT5 products are specifically formulated for drinking water disinfection and are supplied under GB BPR for potable water treatment (PT5). Chlorine dioxide is widely used for drinking water treatment worldwide due to its superior disinfection efficacy, minimal taste and odour impact, and absence of trihalomethane and chloramine by-products (its inorganic by-products, chlorite and chlorate, are controlled by dosing within regulatory limits).

Chlorine dioxide does not form harmful disinfection by-products (DBPs) like trihalomethanes (THMs) or haloacetic acids (HAAs) that traditional chlorine produces when reacting with organic matter. ClO2 also does not form chloramines with ammonia, making it safer for swimming pools and spa applications. Additionally, chlorine dioxide remains effective at higher pH levels where chlorine loses efficacy.
